This was actually my third time working with Ashlin! Ashlin has a space at Corpo Bello Salon. Ashlin was one of my brides back when I still shot weddings and she booked one of my past brand mini sessions! And of course, this was her on-site stylist photoshoot.

On-Site Stylist Photoshoot

Showcasing a stylist in their space is such and amazing way to create visuals for them. I have shot a team of stylists in a salon before, but a lot of salons are made of individual stylists rather than a team. Either way we end up with galleries packed full of photos that make for exactly what you need. BUT, a single stylist photoshoot allows for more time to focus on the details and what makes that stylist unique!

We focused a lot on hair extensions since Ashlin is the Central Illinois QUEEN of hair extensions. We had one of Ashlin’s clients in the salon during the shoot to model! We got to show Ashlin in action and get behind the scenes shots. All the while getting lots of flatlays and some fresh headshots.

I broke out my handy dandy white backdrop and we played with fun props and movement. Ashlin has extensions in her own hair, so we got some flowy shots with her hair on full display.

Illinois Hair Stylist Photoshoot

Ashlin’s white fit was my absolute FAVE (I have always been partial to white outfits on camera). White fabrics always show up so crisp and clean. We got in some really fun headshots with the comb and sheers in hand, as well as throughout the salon. That white fit stands out so well against the colors of the salon. She looks SO put together and I think her personality comes across really well.

Ashlin had recently found out she was pregnant so we HAD to get a few shots to announce it on her stylist socials.

What is so amazing about an in-depth shoot (especially over her last shoot being a brand mini!) like this is that those photos will last her quite awhile. They will get her by at LEAST until after her baby comes along. She won’t have to worry about getting content while on maternity leave. She has these photos she can use on repeat to market her business. She has fresh photos that feel like her.
