Would you believe me if I said that Crystal traveled to my Central Illinois studio all the way from Alaska? Talk about a hike for an esthetician photoshoot!

An Esthetician Photoshoot

Okay well, the truth is that Crystal was in Chicago for a workshop on esthetician business. BUT, she DID drive the 3 hours from Chicago after seeing my work on Instagram.

How stinking cool is it that I got to photograph someone that lives in Alaska??!? I think that is so awesome.

Crystal from Skin by Crystal has her own studio up in Alaska where she offers facials and all sorts of skincare services as well as ear piercing!

Ear Piercing Photoshoot

Crystal wanted to showcase her ear piercing service, so we had my friend Baleigh tag along to show the process!

Baleigh got to get a free piercing and Crystal got to get this awesome way to promote the service! It was a win-win.

From filling out the paperwork to picking out the earring and marking the spot on her ear, we got tons of photos for Crystal to highlight this service! We got a lot of detail shots of her different supplies and the entire process for her to update her website and share on socials.

This shoot definitely shows that we can get creative with service shots even in the studio if on-site isn’t the best option for WHATEVER reason. When I think of something like an esthetician, that photoshoot would usually take place in their studio space. It is so freeing to know that we CAN do that AND we can shoot in the studio and the photos are going to be gorgeous and effective either way.

Crystal’s Esthetician Headshots

We got a LOT of fun headshots for Crystal. Crystal is SUCH a boss, so we used a lot of fun power moves in posing. Definitely boss status.

I wanted to give a lot of variety in Crystal’s headshots. We played with her different skincare products, some more artsy shots, and her different outfits. This ended up being one of my FAVORITE recent shoots. The mood of this gallery was so unique and different from a lot of other shoots I’ve done before.
