How I helped plan the PERFECT proposal
How it all started..
For those who don’t know, Baleigh is one of my best friends and this was ONE hard secret to keep from her. In the winter time, I shot out the idea of having her model in a dress out in the snow. Winter time is when I’m pretty slow, so I wanted to get my creative side going. The snow never came at the right timing, so we threw that idea out the door. When Zach told me about proposing, but wasn’t sure how, I had the perfect idea! I would have Baleigh model in a “styled” shoot and it would turn into the proposal at the end. She wouldn’t expect it and it wasn’t “odd”, because I asked her to model in the winter time. She would also have it all photographed (which she wanted) and she would look amazing during this special moment because she had her hair + makeup done from the styled shoot (and a CUTE outfit)… it all made sense!
planning the styled shoot
These business’s are amazing, all of them helped me bring my vision to life. I am so thankful for them! I highly recommend giving them a follow!

Styled Shoot Planned Out √
Location…. (where we hit a bump in the road)
We wanted all of this to happen at her family property where she grew up, but we had a problem. The week of called for 70% rain. I was kind of freaking out, we didn’t have many indoor options to work with. I wanted this to be perfect because she deserves it! On Thursday night (the shoot is Sunday), I remembered that our family friends have 2 barns! I immediately drove over there to ask for permission, they said yes! SIGH OF RELIEF. It was perfect, we could shoot in 1 barn and the other would be set up for the proposal! I was 10000% excited now, everything would work out as planned!
Also, let me mention this. WHAT ARE THE ODDS that the rain turned into snow the day of the shoot.
IT WAS APRIL!
transforming the proposal barn
Who knew some $5 Dollar General curtains could transform this barn! I saw a vision when I took that first photo, I knew this barn could be perfect for the proposal. It needed a little loving, but I don’t think we did too bad! I brought the lanterns, rug, lace, and hanging lights from my house and with a few hours of decorating, it all came together!
TIME FOR THE BIG PROPOSAL
Towards the end of shooting the “styled” shoot portion, I told the girls I was going to the bathroom, but really I went to the proposal barn to make sure everything was ready. That’s where Zach stood and some family hid. I called Taylor (other photographer) and told her to bring Baleigh over to the other barn, so we could shoot in there.
Thank you Taylor and Ashlin, you two were amazing! Taylor helped me photograph, decorate, and plan! Ashlin did hair + makeup for the styled shoot and also did some video footage (below)!
Congrats Baleigh and Zach, I’m so happy for you two! I can’t wait to stand next to you two in October!
